Prevent Injury, Improve Recovery & Peak Your Performance through Myofascial Release and Yoga
Whether you are recovering from a THRiVE fitness class, training for the Houston marathon, or pushing your limits in Crossfit and sports, athletes experience the same issues: tight hamstrings, quads, and hips (also common in desk jockeys!). Over time these imbalances lead to injuries that sideline you for a season, or worse, cause chronic discomfort.
What to expect?
Triathlete and THRiVE instructor, Nick Wolny, will lead students through a practice of stretches and yoga pose modifications using a lacrosse ball. You’ll learn how to release tight muscles before, during, and after intense training as well as key things to look for to prevent injury.
Why do athletes need yoga?
Yoga helps athletes better understand and listen to their body. In this workshop, you’ll discover where you’re strong and where you’re susceptible to injury, and walk away knowing reproducible exercises that can be done at any time. By correcting these imbalances, you’ll prevent injury, and raise your game to peak performance.
